Subject: 40th invite. (fwd)

do you wake up in morning and talk to consultants? do you ever yell shit
that scares people? do you need a good, stiff drink? have you ever longed,
deep in your heart, for somerville? do you drink beer, coffee, whiskey,
antifreeze, or beer in the shower? do you ever wish for one day out of the
year, like Christmas, where you could drink heavily, listen to the blues,
eat meat, and say, "hey, buddy, FUCK YOU *AND* CANADA!!"

if you said "yes" or "what the fuck, i can't hear!", then you might be
ready for the 40th of july.

for the last 6 years, we have taken a sunny august saturday to throw a
party that spits in the pasty, rolling-rock-drinking faces of all the
other parties. we assemble a crew of punks, drunks, molecular biologists,
consultants, bastids, reprobates, engineers, mooks, medievalists, runners,
rowers, brawlers, roustabouts, immunologists, lawyers, programmers,
fiends, misanthropes, and even chemists. we barbecue like our lives depend
on it, and they do. we import malt liquor all the way from jersey city,
new jersey. we listen to punk, funk, blues, country, and blues, and punk.
we have a simple, honest, brutal good time with no pretenses at all. we
think maybe you should come. party favors include beef patties and very
large bottles of liquor.

the sixth annual 40th of july: saturday, august 4th, from 2:00 PM until we
throw yis out.

54 fayette st., apt 3
inman square, cambridge, MA

NO RSVP. JUST SHOW UP. if you're lost, call 441-5191, ask for rob, and
we'll send someone out to find ya. parking is both limited and risky.
people rich enough to own cars may or may not be ritually bathed in malt
liquor.

NOTE: there is only and only one rule at the 40th: THERE ARE NO CELL
PHONES AT THE 40TH OF JULY. (there is only one exception to this rule,
which is that you may use a cell phone to call your mom and invite her to
the party).

from central square, go up mass ave towards harvard. at the people's
republik, turn right on lee st. this becomes fayette. go all the way.
we're the yellow house near the end on the right. from harvard square,
either take mass ave to lee st and turn left, or go out cambridge st to
fayette. turn right on fayette, and we're the yellow house on the left.

PS: this year's 40th is also the kickoff for our campaign to win the 2010
winter olympics for somerville. you heard it here first. best logo wins
a prize.
